Inez Is A Community School!

A Community School is both a place and a set of partnerships between the school and other community resources.  Community Schools develop and strengthen partnerships between schools and the communities they serve.  A Community School’s six key practices are:

Every community school responds to unique local needs and includes the voices of students, families, and residents. At Inez Elementary, some of the Community School services provided are:

• Rocket Fuel Weekend Food Backpack Program
• School Supplies for all students
• Clothing and shoes
• Partnering with professionals and volunteers for community-connected classroom learning opportunities
• Refugee Family Support
• Adult and Family Workshops
• Family Fitness Nights
• Community Garden
• Teacher Supports
• Additional Funding to meet school and family needs
• Partnering with Community Organizations for special events and family services
• Specialized assistance according to need
• Emergency Housing and Health Referrals
